Where I am training ...

Whilst I do mainly one on one coaching, from time to time I do also train groups.  So here is the info for when I do!  Please come and join in ... it's not dull and tedious, I promise!

Online Workshop List  (called OWLs)

Turning strangers into fans - building a sales funnel that delivers

When: First Monday:  13 April 2015 (two hours).  Second Monday:  20 April 2015 (one hour).  Time TBA but probably around 7pm AEST. From 13 April to 26 April (one week after the last session) you have access to a dedicated Facebook group for questions and sharing. So you're never on your own.
Cost:  AU$25 for RWA members.  AU$35 for non members.
Where:  At your place.  This is all online, so you'll need to have a computer with internet access, and ideally a headset and mic (the ear buds you use for your smartphone are fine).

Bookings open on 1 February 2015.

The focus of the course is on
  • Identifying what it is that you are offering and what it is that makes your book/s unique (and therefore what the key messages are to underpin your communications)
  • Understanding of the roles of the most widely-used marketing options on the internet (blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Google AdSense etc)
  • Choosing the ones that suit you
  • Building your online author presence in such a way that creates a sales funnel, for both indie and trad published

What you will learn:
  • How to differentiate your books from everyone else's  - one of the keys to discoverability
  • How Facebook works .. and why you need to be using a business Page
  • How Twitter works .. and how to grow your presence on it
  • Why you need to have a website or blog
  • How to make email marketing work for you -  and why your email list is worth its weight in diamonds
  • How to make all your activity focus on one outcome:  selling more books without turning marketing  into a burden that saps your energy and cuts into your writing time

I am a firm believer in:

  • Starting with the end in mind: decide what you want to achieve and then build a plan to aim to achieve that
  • The value of thinking through what you want to do before plunging in  -  and how much time you want to dedicate to it  -  and then implementing what you have planned whilst monitoring your results
  • Using your plan as the framework to review and revise so you can continually improve
